"Play: The Meaningful Work of Children"

Presenter: Carol Triggiano, Waldorf School Educator
Young children order and make sense of the world through play. Through self-directed activities they build academic, artistic and social skills that can serve as a foundation for higher levels of learning. Play can help young children problem solve, lessen anxiety and build independence as well as relationships. It can foster exuberant joy, wonder for the world and a spirit of adventure…. What more could we wish for our children! Come and explore the world of play.
Presenter: Carol Triggiano graduated from National Louis University with a degree in education and English. She has taught in both public and private schools in Michigan and Illinois. For the past 19 years, Carol has taught at the Chicago Waldorf School. Carol started at Waldorf with an early childhood classroom. True to the traditions of Waldorf education, she has moved with one class of students from first through eighth grade. Currently she is teaching seventh grade with her second group of students. Carol is also a teacher in the Arcturus Waldorf Teacher Training program. Over the years, she has been a consultant, lecturer and workshop leader on the art of storytelling and its relationship to education.
