Second grade continues to build on and add to all that children have learned in kindergarten and first grades. It is a year of exciting studies and skill building in both academic and social/emotional areas. In second grade, the students strive to become more fluent readers, and writers, and better math and science thinkers. Many new skills are introduced in second grade such as cursive, money, plant life cycles, and multiplication.

Studies include: Plants, Old Winnetka, The Chicago Fire, Architecture, Space, and Economics.
