The Speech-Language Pathologists at the Skokie School assess, diagnose, and treat disorders and deficits related to speech and language. Some of the problem areas which are addressed include, but are not limited to, difficulty with the following: word finding, receptive and expressive vocabulary, oral and written formulation of thoughts and ideas, abstract and inferential language, writing sentences and paragraphs which are cohesive and grammatically and syntactically correct, spelling, decoding written language, reading comprehension, auditory comprehension, social communication skills, articulation and speech production.

The Speech-Language Pathologists work in collaboration with the classroom teachers and special education teachers.
