1) A book by one author:

Formula:

AUTHOR (last name, first name).
TITLE. PLACE OF PUBLICATION:
PUBLISHER, COPYRIGHT DATE. PAGES.

Example:

Reade, Julian. Mesopotamia. Cambridge: Harvard University Press, 1991. 22-26.
(Note: Include page numbers if you did not read the entire book.)
(Note: If a book is edited, write your entry like the above, but indicate that the "author" is an editor: Reade, Julian, ed.)

2) A book by two authors:

Formula:
AUTHOR 1(last name, first name) and AUTHOR 2 (first and last name). TITLE. PLACE OF PUBLICATION: PUBLISHER, COPYRIGHT DATE. PAGES.

Example:

Reade, Julian, and Jan Adkins. Mesopotamia. Cambridge: Harvard University Press, 1991. 22-26.
(Note: Include page numbers if you did not read the entire book.)

3) An article in an encyclopedia:

Formula:

AUTHOR (last name, first name). "TITLE OF ARTICLE." TITLE OF ENCYCLOPEDIA. COPYRIGHT DATE.

Example:

Sinnigen, William. "Cleopatra." The World Book Encyclopedia. 1998. 4. 662-663.(Note: If there is no author given, the title of article will be the first entry.)

Magazine Articles

Formula:
AUTHOR (last name, first name). "TITLE OF ARTICLE." MAGAZINE NAME DAY MONTH YEAR: PAGES.

Example:

Webster, Don. "Valley of the Mummies." National Geographic Oct. 1999: 76-87.

CD-ROMs

Formula:

AUTHOR (last name, first name). "TITLE OF DATABASE." CD TITLE. MEDIUM (CD-ROM). PUBLISHER or VENDOR, ELECTRONIC PUBLICATION DATE.

Example:

"Mummies: Eternal Bodies." Mirosoft Ancient Lands. CD-ROM. Microsoft Corporation, 1994.(Note: If there is no author given, the title of
article will be the first entry.)

Websites

Formula:

AUTHOR (last name, first name). "TITLE OF MATERIAL." DAY MONTH YEAR MATERIAL WRITTEN. PUBLICATION MEDIUM (the word Online). NAME OF SERVICE (World Wide Web). DAY MONTH YEAR ACCESSED. ELECTRONIC ADDRESS (Preceed address with the word Available:).

Example:
