Response to Intervention

Response to Intervention (RtI) is a federal and state initiative designed to improve educational outcomes for all students. The key components to the RtI initiative include a multi-leveled model for providing supports/interventions, a problem-solving approach to match instructional resources to educational needs, and a systematic design for reviewing student information. The RtI model uses three tiers which are organized around levels of instruction or intervention that are matched to the needs of the students. The primary differences between the tiers are in the intensity of student need and intensity of instruction. Staff members collaborate around the planning and implementation of focused interventions and parents may be asked to join the problem solving team. Click here to learn more.
