Computer Literacy

Computer Literacy provides keyboarding training and introduces fifth grade students to Microsoft Office components. In addition, safe and appropriate use of the Internet is discussed. This offering will provide support to students as they integrate the use of technology with daily projects to enhance their learning.

Students attend Computer Literacy for an approximately six-week rotation at some point during the school year prior to Spring Break. Students then provide input about their personal interests and are assigned to participate for seven weeks in one of the four focus groups - Drama, Music, Dance, or Computer Literacy. The focus groups meet daily in preparation for the Extravaganza, collaboratively presented by the fifth grade at the end of May.
